Sensai – The art of Japanese skincare with Koishimaru silk

Sensai: the art of Japanese skincare by Kanebo

The Saho ritual and Koishimaru silk

Sensai is the luxury skincare line of the Japanese group Kanebo, founded in 1981. The house draws on the Saho ritual, the age-old Japanese code of harmonious gestures, to offer a skincare routine in which every texture, every movement and every gesture is conceived as an art. Sensai's unique signature is its extract of Koishimaru silk, the legendary silk used for the kimonos of Japan's emperors, whose peptides help redensify and smooth the skin.

The Japanese house's iconic skincare

The Sensai pantheon includes Radiant Glow Foundation SPF10, THE LIPSTICK, HIGHLIGHTING CONCEALER, TOTAL FINISH, CLEANSING MILK and TOTAL LIP TREATMENT, all signatures that have established the house among enthusiasts of exceptional skincare.

Five collections to explore Sensai

The house organises its range into five complementary lines. Cellular Performance is the comprehensive anti-ageing ritual. Absolute Silk brings together the premium silk-based treatments. Ultimate embodies absolute excellence. Experts offers high-precision targeted treatments. Finally, Silky Purifying gathers the cleansers for the two-step Japanese ritual. Sensai also offers make-up that extends its skincare universe.

Who is Sensai for, and when should you use it?

Sensai is designed for lovers of Japanese cosmetics who seek airy textures and a soothing daily ritual. The house caters to all skin types and all ages, with ranges tailored to specific needs (anti-ageing, radiance, hydration, purity). If you love Sensai, you will also enjoy exploring Valmont (Swiss cellular skincare), La Mer (the American anti-ageing icon) and Matis Paris (premium French skincare), three other luxury skincare houses at Soleil d'Or.
