The story of Private Label

An ideal, contemporary oriental with a trail as elegant as it is powerful. Leathery and smoky at once, this highly recognisable signature is reserved for strong personalities, men or women, who own their character in all circumstances — a private circle of passionate lovers of life who need no one's gaze to exist.

Papyrus absolute, leathery and smoky, opens onto a heart of smoky, earthy vetiver and gripping patchouli, before a base of sensual sandalwood, cistus, luminous cedar and birch — the blend that makes Private Label the absolute benchmark of the perfect woody.

The story is true: a Middle Eastern princess, visiting the Jovoy boudoir near Rue de la Paix, ordered a perfume for her son — in the middle of August, with the labs closed. Cécile Zarokian, then at the start of her career, took the brief and delivered a powerful, uncompromising woody that has become a favourite among connoisseurs. To wear in autumn and winter.
