SANTAL AUSTRAL by Matière Première, eau de parfum

SANTAL AUSTRAL

The heart of Southern Sandalwood rests on the organic sandalwood essence from Australia, the central raw material of this creation. The fragrance explores the “velvety” side of this wood, seeking a soft and enveloping density.

To emphasize this creamy texture, the composition introduces a note of Tuscan iris absolute and an “almond milk” veil as a softened facet. In the background, benzoin absolute from Laos And tonka bean absolute from Venezuela bring warmth, depth and a slightly amber finish.

Santal Austral is intended to be an expressive but non-aggressive sandalwood: a “neutral” fragrance, worked in light and softness, faithful to the spirit of Matiere Premiere.

Matiere Premiere is a French perfume house created by perfumer Aurélien Guichard, whose vision is based on a simple idea: to reveal the power and uniqueness of a single natural material at a time.
The brand's fragrances are designed around exceptional ingredients—Madagascar vanilla, Australian sandalwood, oud, neroli, musk, and incense—chosen for their quality and ethical origin.

Each composition is minimalist, legible and modern, leaving the raw material the freedom to express itself fully.
The formulas are made from ingredients that are between 85% and 92% of natural origin, vegan and free of colorants, in an approach that respects nature and artisan producers.
