With Crystal Saffron Extrait, Aurélien Guichard takes the saffron overdose further: he chooses an exceptional Greek Saffron Oil as the heart of the creation and adds, as a guest ingredient, Somalian myrrh — a dense, textured material he describes as a “luminous black”.

The increased concentration intensifies the radiance of saffron while preserving a crystalline elegance; the trail deepens into a spicy, slightly ambery accord, carried by incense and musky facets. The alliance of saffron's warmth and the dark depth of myrrh creates a vibrant, sensual fragrance with a strong personality.

Crystal Saffron Extrait embodies the philosophy of Matiere Premiere: a central material exalted, pared back yet intensified.

Matiere Premiere is a French perfume house created by perfumer Aurélien Guichard, whose vision is based on a simple idea: to reveal the power and uniqueness of a single natural material at a time.
The brand's fragrances are designed around exceptional ingredients—Madagascar vanilla, Australian sandalwood, oud, neroli, musk, and incense—chosen for their quality and ethical origin.

Each composition is minimalist, legible and modern, leaving the raw material the freedom to express itself fully.
The formulas are made from ingredients that are between 85% and 92% of natural origin, vegan and free of colorants, in an approach that respects nature and artisan producers.
