Mauna

Mauna is an extrait de parfum from the Talismans collection, composed by Italian perfumer Cristiano Canali from a concept by Stefania Squeglia. In Sanskrit, the word refers to a silence that is not the absence of sound but an intact force, beyond time and space. Canali, who says his heart was opened to perfumery by his encounter with sandalwood in India, made it the central subject of the formula.

The opening pairs black pepper and Madagascan ginger beneath a veil of olibanum. The heart unfolds Indian Santalum album sandalwood, whose milky richness slowly blossoms on the skin, supported by benzoin. The base brings together tonka bean absolute, sacred musk, styrax and a velvety accord, for a creamy, balsamic and deeply soothing sillage.

Founded in 2012 by Stefania Squeglia, Mendittorosa is an Italian perfume house that creates limited-edition artisanal perfume extracts. Each fragrance is designed as a "prayer for the skin," using natural ingredients and handcrafted bottles by Italian artists. The brand prides itself on being free of dyes, BHA, BHT, as well as PBA and PVC, reflecting a commitment to purity and authenticity.
